Blogging class at CCPL
I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are on the first of the Web 2.0/Library 2.0 classes yesterday. I got a better understanding of how to subscribe to blogs and also found out that editing the side column of the blog is not as straightforward as I'd hoped. That's really what I meant when I said I couldn't add a link. Maybe I'll take Felicia up on her offer and call, so she can walk me through it.
So, any budding bloggers? Thoughts on what we could do with this?

My head was swimming by the end of the class. They could have taken two hours just to talk about reading blog sites in general. I'm very excited, though, about all the information that was covered.
I'm hoping we can start a blog for children's services where people could list recent programs that really went well, give links to new ideas and happenings, post pictures, etc. The list could just go on and on and on.
It's a brave new blogging world out there, and I, for one, just got a little more brave (and hopefully, a little less technologically challenged!)
To the blogosphere and beyond!
It was a lot of information, so I can understand the feelings of excitement, confusion and being overwhelmed. I'll need to look a the handouts online too, for a refresher.
Both of these are interesting ideas. Keep 'em coming!
Cynthia,
I think this would be a great tool for Staff Org to use. It would be wonderful way to communicate what is happening in the lives of our staff-personally and professionally, especially with staff moving to different branches or departments. The hardest part will be getting people to let us know what is going on.
Staff org could set one up, or we could use this one (he he). And you're right that the hardest thing is getting people to let you know what is going on. I've not had as much luck with that as I'd hoped, but maybe if we develop a critical mass of people who want to make blogging work for us that will change.
